G'Day! Welcome to WA! A vast expanse of untouched, unparalleled landscape that can only be understood by those that have journeyed its enormous plains. 2.64 million km² of space that only the surface of Mars can be used as its true comparison. And it is simply breathtaking.

G'Day! If you do make the brilliant decision to travel The Wildflower State then there is one way, and one way only, to truly experience it. And that is by camper-van. From flying into Perth from Sydney we collected our van, stocked up on supplies, and set off into the great unknown.
We knew our heading, we knew where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see. We just didn't fully comprehend the actual journey ahead. Since the majority of WA's inhabitants live in Perth or around the Margaret River area we quickly realised that you can drive an entire day without seeing another soul.
Armed with a playlist of classic singalongs the hours and miles rolled by. Before we knew it we were on the Ningaloo Reef diving with Manta-rays and Tiger Sharks. Heading North for days we finally came to Exmouth, and it was everything that we could've dreamed of; white sand, turquoise blue water, unforgettable sunsets.
When the time came to head back South we covered 832km in a day! We spent the night in the port town of Geraldton where I met with some locals to discuss national issues. We finally, after another few hundred kilometres, we made it to Fremantle just South of Perth. Fremantle is a quaint, picturesque, mostly heritage listed town where you catch your ferry to Rottnest Island.

Rottnest Island is an absolute must! As in add it to your bucket list right now! We spent a few days camping on this magical island with the majority of company being provided by the famous Quokkas; the island's native inhabitants and a marsupial found nowhere else on the planet. These amazing creatures have evolved with no natural predators and therefore are not shy about meeting humans, and even taking a few cheeky selfies with them!

We cannot wait to go back to Western Australia. More importantly we can only hope that you make the decision to embark on the journey as well.
Love from Nick & Mia x
